Description
N.8a: Low convex-bodied pyxis w primary decoration on body between narrow stripes: heraldic sphinxes on either side of incised staff with two stars above , another below; at rear grazing deer and lion; blob rosettes in field; figures and rosettes decorated with incision; low flaring base decorated with dark stripe on bottom edge. N.8b: Lid, probably not belonging, fairly flat with conical handle, decorated with narrow concentric stripes with top of handle solidly coated.
State of Preservation
N.8a: Paint badly worn all over minor chips from rim and body. N.8b: slightly chipped particularly at edge.
