Description
Fragment from bottom of plaque with terminal band of pendant palmettes separated by raised band with central depression from main portion of plaque. 6-leaf palmettes suspended from spiral scrolls which curve up in center, down at ends. Above raised band heavily draped figure in archaizing style drapery moves on tip-toe toward what appears to be an altar w gabled top & ?lion feet; nature of dress uncertain with swallow tail folds in front of & towards center of figure and at rear stacked folds. Apparently whole plaque covered with white slip with added red on lower portion of one palmette preserved and added blue on side panels yellowish-brown. Yellowish brown on lower portion of altar. Traces of peg hole on upper edge.
State of Preservation
Irregularly rectangular with side and bottom edges finished, other edges broken off, some chipping of surfaces and paint badly worn.
