Description
High, almost straight-sided reservoir tapering in slightly to slightly concave base which encircled w three raised bands; flat discus w two low ridges in central portion surrounded by flat rim, bordered by two raised bands & decorated w leaf-and-dart , sloping up to reservoir edge. Vertical loop handle on which large leaf-shaped sheath decorated w central vertical ribs and side ribs divided into groups by loop/eye-shaped elements. Spathate nozzle w small volutes on either side of base; air slit on surface of base of nozzle surrounded by raised leaf-outline; now indistinct raised element at edge of nozzle hole, end of which darkened from flame. Originally coated w brownish paint.
State of Preservation
Handle-sheath broken off and reattached w some addition of painted plaster at top of handle. Most of paint worn off; some surface incrustation.
