Description
Lamp of Thracian type w biconical reservoir w fairly sharp carination; concave discus defined by 2 prominent ridges which continue, merging into 1, around outside of broad, elongated nozzle; in discus outline relief decoration: heart-shaped device pointing to nozzle w 3 curving relief lines below fill hole, loop on either side above fill hole; flat base recessed within crude raised band. Uptilted thick, unperforated lug handle decorated w 2 deep grooves down the surface. Unpainted.
State of Preservation
Badly mended from 3 fragments. Much of surface split off on rear below handle; ca 1/2 of upper surface of nozzle broken off. Some chipping where split at carination & elsewhere.
